EXPRESSION THROUGH LETTERING
Assignment Goal: Pick a word that personally resonates with you. How will you visually express a certain mood, emotion, or feeling? Why did you choose that visual styling?
Grow (verb): undergo natural development; progress to maturity
The past year for me has been filled with a lot of growth and development in my personal life. I have put a lot of effort into making positive and sustainable choices in my life and I have recognized a lot of self-improvement.
The typeface I chose is meant to feel raw and organic with its soft curves and rounded edges. Plants are largely associated with the word "grow" so my design takes inspiration from the color schemes of plant life and include a flower as a visual representation of growth. It can be hard to see the gradual changes in development but once a flower has fully blossomed, there is no doubt as to how much it has transformed.
